So far my times have been improving much like has happened after marathon training and just before winter hits. Noted are my lack of rest days. I've been trying to improve on this by making my runs later in the day rather than first thing in the morning or substituting it totally with a swim and light Yoga instead.

This week was spent primarily on running. Even the Plyometrics was mostly sprints and leg based. I'm prepping myself for winter running. Less gear use as well because the music has become more of a distraction these days.

Autumn has provided for some eye-opening results of distance bringing speed, but it has leveled my head somewhat with regards to what I expect of myself when I train or exercise. At the moment, I just want to keep active and learning some more discipline when it comes to the mind vs the overall confidence boosters that reaching certain goals brings.
At the 5km race on Sunday, I was both hungover and on just 30 minutes sleep. I told my running mates that I was going to race it on a whim at the last minute. And I did and it turned out giving me a big confidence when it came to running races. Usually it's all about finishing and my times at races are vastly different than my training personal bests. This time it balanced out somewhat for I lost myself in the views and the flow of the race. I am humbled by both the experience and the fact that I do need to take myself more into consideration instead of continually telling myself I'm not at my best, but rather just to continue pushing my limits within reason.
Good stuff this past week.:)

All in all my energy levels are high and the legs feel strong. Sculpting regimen to start this coming week. Still trying to decide which marathons I want to register for next year.
Am considering just personal training myself (help friends for free) and concentrating on university and part-time work instead.
Thaz it!

O_o
That's all I gotta say.
I'm restructuring how I log in my runs to save time and so I don't bog down daily friends' pages. I'll be upping some of my runs and changing my daily training as well for a new sculpting and toning tune up that I've been planning out. I'll be updating once a week in big post on Sundays with all my runs, swims, bike rides and whatever else. I'm not going to be using these widgets either, just the data, but those who follow here most likely will see these things regularily posted as usual on my FB and/or Twitter. Current Mood: happy

I wanted to do more, but as soon as I saw that there were going to be 3 of us in the slow lane, I decided to finish.
I had a quick check up with the personal trainer. Deets in my personal journal later, but to summarize: I am assured that fit-wise the marathon might not kill me. Heh. If I don't get lost or knee buckle out or anything.:P
AHHHHHH! 3 more days!

It was only supposed to be 13km, but after 10km something just went off in my head, something good. I had reached the lake so there was quite a bit of terrain I could cover, so I did an overall body check and it gave me the ok, so I kept going. It felt really good.
At 16km I had to tell myself to start cooling down to stop. I ran the whole thing almost full blast. And it felt really good.
No, no, no, it *felt* *really* gooooooooood.
I'm fucking scared, but that's ok. I'm crazy like that.
Six days until the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

I have a pain in my left knee. It's not soreness. It's arthritic pain. Occasional, but it's there. It's not ITBS. I'm doing physio exercises for it. It starts when I start my run and goes away a few minutes into it. I've had this before, so it's nothing new, just concerning....just a bit.
My body is all ripped. My arms are tight, my legs are tight, my stride solid and smooth. But I feel like crap all over due to sickness, overuse and just general malaise.
Kids are sick too today. I'm going to go try and sleep all day.
10 days until the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

I HATE TAPERING. Sure, I like all kinds of distances for the rush or the endorphin build they build. The thing is, you spend months getting to a certain distance and speed and all of a sudden you have to hold back for the main event, the actual race. I could possibly do the marathon distance right now (I am that full of angst and training that I'd probably just go without thinking of how I would get home). But that would be nuts and I really can't chance injuring myself.
Instead I have expense all this stuff into the smaller runs or the crosstraining or dancing. I really should have gone dancing on Monday, but alas.
I'll be feeling like a caged animal until the 27th and try real hard not to overdo it.
